HOW YOU CAN HAVE PEACE OF MIND ON YOUR VACATION Depending on the individual policy of the supplier your vacation is booked through, there are many different cancellation penalties. These can range from just losing your deposit to losing the total amount of your vacation. This is especially true with individual condominiums stays. These have to be prepaid prior to your arrival. For a relatively small amount you can protect yourself by purchasing trip cancellation insurance which will cover you and your traveling companions should you or any close member of your family become ill before or during your vacation. Many travelers believe they are covered by HMO's and credit card companies, and many times that isn't the case. We strongly suggest you always buy travel insurance. Here are some cases taken from CSA. A customer's three-year-old daughter developed an ear infection two days before the vacation was to begin. The client had to cancel the trip, but he was in a 100% penalty period with the cruise line, and stood to lose over $4,000. The entire claim was paid.
Tom B. is a very active person who had planned a ski trip to Aspen for several months in advance. Three weeks before his Aspen trip, he broke his leg at a local ski area. If not for CSA, he would have lost his entire trip investment of $1,800.
